COACH GLORIA' S STORY

Gloria's caregiving experience started out like the typical experience of many who find themselves thrust into the role of caregiver in that she became a caregiver before she actually knew she was what had happened.  There was no formal announcement, no well laid plan,

her mom was ill, she needed help,  and she just started doing what needed to be done to help her mom thru a traumatic experience.

When she became the family caregiver for her mom, it resulted in her having to leave her business and career as a teacher.  But, she quickly realized that caregiving is not a job for the faint of heart, and as a result, of the challenges she experienced in trying to find answers and advice about problems she needed to solve and not finding many solutions, she decided to become her own advocate to find out all she could about dementia, caregiving and wellness.

This led her on a course to start a training program to become a certified life coach in 2006, with a focus on wellness for caregivers.

The career move to become a Life Coach fit like a glove.  Gloria became a Certified Professional Life Coach and  has taken additional training  utilizing  NLP techniques  to help with issues of stress reduction .  She  now operates her coaching practice,  G J & Associates as a home based business.

Her passion is coaching other caregivers whether they are working or or are caring for their loved ones at home. whether the illness is   dementia,  catastrophic illnesses, or special needs children.

In addition to being a Certified Strategies Life Coach, she brings more than 20 years business experience, with a high concentration in the fields of human resources, finance, legal and business administration.  She has  worked for both private companies and public agencies, and  taught high-school and adult education classes.

Coach Gloria feels that although, the illness or disease  may be different for each family, the stress and strain on the caregiver is basically the same reality.   Her experience as a caregiver has added an extra dimension of compassion, knowledge and understanding to enable her to share her experience and  training with others.

In addition to her work experience and training, in vocational education, legal, business, finance and human resource fields, she volunteers her time and services to a number of non-profit organizations.

Her passion is focusing on the needs of the caregivers whether they are in business, still employed or home-bound.  She continues  to update her knowledge and skills thru continuing education, new  technology, changing laws and regulations.
