My Story:

I started in  business as an as an Independent Paralegal in 1995, offering  business services that included document preparation, and later  became a Social Security Disability Advocate and Representative in 1996.  In addition,  taught  high school and adult education students as a vocational education instructor, until I took on the role of caregiver.

After I started taking care of my mom, I realized right away, I would not be able to continue working.  So, caregiving  became my  fulltime job  in 2003, until she passed away in 2013.  During that time I pushed myself  to stay active not only thru caregiver workshops, organizations and support groups, but I became aware of how important following a path of health and wellness was to me, particularly as a caregiver.    I completed my certification for life coaching in 2009, with a focus on caregiver wellness based on my  experiences with  caregiving.  I was lucky enough to have many supportive people to help me along my journey and now as a life strategies  coach focusing on caregiverwellness I want to  share my experience and expertise  with others.

In addition to my legal and administrative background, my qualifications include vocational education instructor, freelance and technical writing.  I also spent  several years working  working in the field of Human Resources with private, nonprofit and government agencies.  My areas of experience included: Workers’ Compensation/Benefits and Occupational Health, records management, customer service, case development and supervision.

Caregiving has added an extra dimension of knowledge and understanding that has  enabled me to share my experience and training not only from  the issues of the workplace environment, but also understanding the role of caregiver and work/life balance.    In  addition,  I   continue to update my  knowledge and skills thru continuing education of changing laws and regulations.   (See more on my About page)
