STEPS TO CAREGIVER WELLNESS

Hello Caregiver World!

A few years back when I started my journey, if someone mentioned the word “caregiver” I like most folks I know would immediately think of someone frail and elderly. and I guess they still make up the largest group in the mix.

But after meeting numerous caregivers in support groups and at other events, I’ve found that brain impairment issues can come in any shape, form or size from infancy to the elderly.

Also more importantly, what I’ve found over the past few years, is that caregivers seem to have a common link in the toll it can take on you mentally, physically, financially, and just about every other area of your life.

So, while we each may have our own specific illness or disability we are dealing with as caregivers, the result for the caregiver is generally the same - stress!

In my quest to learn more and better ways of being a caregiver, I stumbled upon a concept called the "Dimensions of Wellness Wheel", that changed my life and led me to focus on wellness coaching for caregivers

On my blog Glo's Caregiver Wellness Connection, I"ll be sharing some tips, tools and hints I’ve gotten from others and my own experience that might make the road a little easier for someone else.
